Welcome to The GRACE Project

Growing Resilience in All Communities Everywhere

"Do your little bit of good where you are... it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world."

- Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Our Focus

GRACE is an acronym for Growing Resilience in All Communities Everywhere. You haven’t heard of us? We’re ok with that! Why? Because we embrace the words of the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu: “Do your little bit of good where you are. It’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”

Through our work, we have learned that the smallest gestures of financial support, kindness and connection can make the biggest difference in the life of a young person or family.

The GRACE Project, with its associated curriculum and programs, seeks to create cultures of caring. Research demonstrates that programs that build resiliency and life skills promote social connectedness, encourage help-giving behaviors, enhance social and emotional health and support overall well-being.

Structured informal gatherings nurture supportive relationships and make it more likely that people struggling with traumatic backgrounds and experiences will grow in self-awareness, resilience, courage and confidence. We especially support healing through education, art,  mindfulness, and comfortable conversation.

Our Programs

Tailored Programs To Meet Diverse Needs

Our trainings and workshops are evidence-based, experiential, and project focused. We strive to enhance the skill sets of childcare workers, educators, counselors, clergy, youth advocates, social workers, parents and mental health practitioners.

Our workshops and gatherings promote resiliency and support emotional well-being. Each project is tailored to the needs of the participants and incorporates the latest research in the field of resilience and well-being.

Heartwork

Our newest program, Heartwork: Life Lessons about Resilience, is an engaging curriculum designed for young people and anybody who supports the social, emotional, and mental well-being of clients of all ages. Heartwork emphasizes self-awareness, effective communication, building positive and healthy relationships, and the importance of empathy and compassion for others.

Workshops

We offer school and community workshops on topics such as tools and strategies that promote resilience, support emotional well-being, and build healthy social connections. Our workshops are tailored to the needs of your organization and are led by educators, social workers and experts in the field of resilience, social-emotional health and well-being.

What Our Participants Say

“It was cold and rainy this morning and I wanted to roll over, grab the remote, and stay in bed all day. But one of the things I learned about myself from the program is that I need structure in my life to stay straight. And I’ve also learned it’s important to follow through on commitments. So I forced myself out of bed to come here. I feel better now and glad I did.”
